TAN Registration in India
Fast-Track Your Tax Compliance with HIVA Professionals
In today’s digital economy, TAN (Tax Deduction and Collection Account Number) is mandatory for
businesses responsible for deducting or collecting tax at source. HIVA Professionals simplifies
the TAN registration process, ensuring quick compliance so you can focus on growing your
business.
What is a TAN Number?
A TAN is a unique 10-digit alphanumeric number issued by the Income Tax Department under Section
203A of the Income Tax Act, 1961. It is specifically required for individuals and entities that
deduct (TDS) or collect (TCS) tax on behalf of the government.
Crucial Difference: A PAN (Permanent Account Number) cannot be used in place of
a TAN. If you deduct tax, you must quote your TAN on all TDS/TCS returns and payment challans.
