What is GST E-Way Preparation?
An E-Way Bill (Electronic Way Bill) is a mandatory document generated electronically under Rule 138 of the CGST Rules, 2017, for the movement of goods worth more than ₹50,000. GST E-Way Preparation involves verifying consignment invoices, generating Part-A (supplier, recipient, and tax details) and Part-B (vehicle and transport details), and issuing valid 12-digit E-Way Bill Numbers (EWB) with QR codes for smooth transit across state and national borders during Financial Year 2025-2026.
Who Needs GST E-Way Preparation?
- Businesses transporting goods worth over ₹50,000 for sales, job work, exports, or stock transfers.
- Entities carrying goods by road, rail, air, or ship where suppliers have not generated EWB.
- Unregistered businesses sending goods to registered buyers (where the recipient must generate EWB under RCM).
- Digital platforms fulfilling orders requiring interstate or intrastate movement of goods.
- Businesses transferring port-bound or customs-cleared cargo under LUT or tax payment modes.
